We chose the name Awassos , which means black bear in the Abenaki language, because it reflects the type of vehicles our company wanted to make.

The name Awassos symbolizes the robustness of our mini-skidders, and is in keeping with our goal to produce vehicles that support the philosophy of resource protection. We believe First Nations represent this world view best.

And that in brief is how our mini-skidder came to be christened the Awassos .
